It's often makes sense to shoot on location where products are warehoused. This avoids shipping, risk of damage to products, and is generally more convenient for every one at the office and plant.
The marketing director for Pramac arranged for all required products to be on-site the day of the session, polished up and ready to shoot. Employees were available for moving heavier products in and out of our shooting area. Some items could be easily hand carried. Others required a fork lift. Seamless white paper ( rolls ) used for this shoot inevitably gets scuffed and torn, and we simply pull down more back drop as needed.
I typically take the full array of studio lighting and camera equipment for a location shoot, so working in portraits or other shots is always an option.
